There isn’t only double8 film, but also doublesuper8 film in the world. This filmformat is twice super8 film, just as you would expect from the name. Every camera roll is 16mm wide but has super8 perforations, so you need a DS8 camera.
You can consider doublesuper8 to be a niche within a nice. The benefits are without any doubt large, but to find a good DS8 camera is rather tricky. Most DS8 camera’s on the second hand market are made in Russia.
If you search well you will find a Pathé or a Bolex doublesuper8 camera and that is a real deal to work with from my own experience.
