double8 camera

Double8 camera’s were the first successful amateur camera’s on the market and still exist today!
Double8 film was introduced for amateurs around 1932 by Kodak to offer an alternative for the 16mm format which was used by many, but too expensive for common people. Double8 is the predecessor of super8 that was introduced in 1965. Most double8 camera’s work with a spring wounded motor (no batteries) and have most of the time three lenses on a ‘turret’.

We now offer 3 films made by Foma from Czech Republic, two are black/white reversal and one film – 100 Cine – is a b/w negative film stock.

FilmoTec Wolfen and Wittner Cinetec (Germany) offer two films in the double8 film format after their joined forces and now work together, we love what they do.
