Expired film development

S8RL is working closely with Film Rescue International, based in Canada, since August 2012. Owners Tracey and Greg are true friends. All work in the Netherlands is done under the name Film Rescue Europe.

In practice

This means that all outdated films (film whose expiry date has passed) from all brands and types (photo, 8 + 16mm) from all European customers are registered here. Then these films are forwarded via a special FedEx service to Canada where the actual developing and digitising is done. All films except for the motion colour films such as super8 Agfa Moviechrome, Orwo, Revue Superchrome or Fuji single-8 films because these are developed here in The Hague. The lab in Canada on their turn sends all their 8 + 16mm motion colour films to The Hague for efficient film processing here.

Due to global changes (cost of chemistry, shipping costs, custom clearance, brexit) and the small amount of orders, the final revenues are now too low to maintain this system. So it’s time for an adjustment, unfortunatly. Continue reading to find out what this will mean for your situation.

All Kodachrome & photo films

Send all these film types directly to Film Rescue International based in Canada. Please contact Canada directly via their website. So if you have an exposed super8, 16mm or Kodachrome photo film, or any other photo film, send them all directly to Film Rescue International.

Expired super8 colour films

And if you have an expired super8 Kodak Ektachrome 7240, Agfa Moviechrome, Orwo UK17, Revue Superchrome or Fuji single-8 film for example, then you can send these to Super8 Reversal Lab for development. We will continue this expired film processing service. Here you can read all details.

Film Rescue International and S8RL continue to work together in the background and remain friends forever.
